Japanese automaker Honda is preparing to launch the updated Honda City facelift in India on May 22, 2026. The facelifted sedan has already been spotted undisguised ahead of its official debut, revealing several styling and feature upgrades. The new model is expected to strengthen Honda’s position in the highly competitive mid-size sedan segment.

Sharper Exterior Design Expected

The upcoming Honda City facelift is likely to receive a refreshed front fascia with redesigned LED headlamps, a new grille pattern, revised bumpers, and updated alloy wheels. Spy images suggest the sedan will get a sportier and more premium appearance while retaining its elegant silhouette. Minor changes at the rear are also expected to improve the overall styling.

Cabin to Get More Premium Features

Inside the cabin, Honda is expected to introduce several feature additions to enhance comfort and convenience. Reports suggest the facelift may offer ventilated front seats, a powered driver seat, updated upholstery, and a 360-degree camera. The infotainment system and digital instrument cluster are also expected to receive software and interface improvements.

Engine Options Likely to Remain Unchanged

Mechanically, the facelifted Honda City is expected to continue with the existing 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine paired with manual and CVT gearbox options. Honda is also likely to continue offering the strong hybrid City e:HEV version, known for its impressive fuel efficiency and refined driving experience.

Competition in the Sedan Segment

The refreshed Honda City will continue to compete against popular sedans like the Hyundai Verna, Volkswagen Virtus, and Skoda Slavia. With updated styling and added features, Honda aims to keep the City attractive for buyers looking for a premium and reliable sedan in India.

Expected Pricing and Market Position

The facelifted Honda City is expected to be priced from around ₹12.5 lakh (ex-showroom), while higher variants and the hybrid model could command a premium. The launch event on May 22 is also expected to include the debut of Honda’s new ZR-V SUV for the Indian market.
